Material Saefety Data Sheet for SMARTWOOD fibre cement planks and boards according to 1907/2006/EF(REACH), Article 31 Page 2 of 3 7. Handling and storage The product must be stored at a flat and dry surface and covered with a tarpaulin. 8. Exposure controls/personal protection Mechanical processing (cutting, drilling etc.) should preferably be executed outdoors or at least in a well ventilated area. Use local exhaust by use of electric tools. Processing will develop dust containing residues of cement, quartz and silica. Use appropriate mask, gloves and eye protection to avoid contact with dust particles. 9. Physical and chemical properties a) Appearance: Coloured sheets b) Odour: None c) Odour treshold: N/A d) pH: 11-13 e) Melting point/freezing point: N/A f) Initial boiling point and boiling range: N/A g) Flash point: Non combustible h) Evaporation rate: N/A i) Flammability: Non combustible j) Upper and lower flammability or explosive limit: N/A k) Vapour pressure: N/A l) Vapour density: N/At m) Relative density: 1330 kg/m3 n) Solubility: N/A o) Partition coefficient: N/A p) Auto-ignition temperature: N/A q) Decomposition temperature: N/A r) Viscosity: N/A s) Explosive properties: N/A t) Oxidising properties: N/A 10. Stability og reactivity No known risks of dangerous reactions. The product is cement based and may be affected by acids. 11. Toxicological information Cutting and drilling develops dust and necessary measures must be taken by use of proper gloves, mask and eye protection. Dust from fibre cement is characterized as mineral dust, thus long time exposure may cause lung diseases like silicosis or lung cancer. By skin contact with dust from processing wash with soap and water. By eye contact with dust, flow with clean water for 15 minutes. If still irritation, consult physician.
